Catherine Laboure belonged to the Congregation of the Daughters of Charity founded by Saint Vincent de Paul. She served God helping sick people and poor people. Especially she saw the Virgin Mary in 1830. The Virgin Mary told her to strike a medal with a picture of the Immaculate Virgin Mary which is known in the whole world as Miraculous Medal.
