ICON OF MOTHER OF GOD OF BIALYNICHY In 1882 researcher A. K. Kirkor wrote about Bialynichy: “… on the left bank of the river of Druts there is situated Bialynichy, famous for its miraculous icon of the Mother of God. Bialynichy became the similar place for the Belarussians as Chenstohowa is for the Polish and Ostraja Brama for the Lithuanians…” During the soviet time the church, where the icon was placed, was closed and later destroyed. The miraculous icon was at first conveyed to the Art Museum in Mohilev, but then tracklessly disappeared during the evacuation of the museum treasures. Till nowadays there remained few copies of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Bialynichy, some of them are also considered to be miraculous.
