Vernissage in Budslau
On July 1-2 the art vernissage took place during the feast in Budslau. It became the result of the plein air Budslau 2004 that had been held on the eve of the solemnity.
The works presented at the vernissage are ones of Belarusian artists: Mikalaj Kireeu, Yury Alisevich, Piotr Bahdanau, Igar Gardzijonak, Volga Gardzijonak-Kireeva, Liliana Gudava, Iryna Kavalenka, Tatyana Siplevich, Lada Shchasna, Siargej Shemet. Notwithstanding the variety of art techniques, manner and touch the works are united by common aspiration of the artists to express their impressions of such a marvelous place as Budslau. The exposition was situated near the church. When it got dark the candles, lighted in front of the easels with the works, joined symbolically and naturally the lights of the Holy Mass.
The initiators of the art action are: F. Slavamir Viatlugin, OFM, custodian of the National Sanctuary of the Mother of God in Budslau, the publishing house Pro Christo and the initiative group Pleneria. Great thankfulness is expressed to private persons and organizations who provided material support of the plein air and helped to publish catalogue.
The initiative group Pleneria has an intention of starting the series of such art actions with the aim of popularization and preservation of cultural and religious values that are common for the believers of various confessions.
