Two photo exhibitions brought from Belarus by the publishing house Pro Christo became an interesting and unexpected event at the 10th bookfair of Catholic publishing houses in Warsaw that took place on April 16-18. One of them – “Treasure that can be saved” – acquainted visitors of the exhibition with the icons from the depository of Belarusian Ancient Culture Museum of Belarusian National Academy of Sciences. Those badly damaged icons got to the funds of the museum during the time of persecution of faith. Collaborators of the museum preserved this treasure till our days, but the icons need prompt restoration.

The name of the other exhibition is “Spring of the Church in Belarus”. The years of the renaissance of the Christian faith in our land were called “spring of the Church” by the Holy Father John Paul II. Thanks to God’s Providence we have already reaped rich fruits of the blessed “spring”. For 13 years on the ruins of atheism and materialism there have been built new churches, have been restored the destroyed ones and having been renewed the damaged ones. New and numerous vocations, two seminaries in Grodno and in Pinsk, renewed Church structure, Catholic publishing houses and press, and even more young people in churches are also sign of the ‘spring’.

The photo exhibitions that had been prepared for the bookfair were visited by numerous participants and guests. Aleg Glekau and Mikalaj Novikau (publishing house Pro Christo, Minsk) are the authors of all the pictures.
